Using this method, subscribers will be able to complete the process of sitting in a home facility. The following is a step-by-step linking process:

Step 1: Visit the telecom operator theatre's website.

Step 2: Enter a mobile number to the link, verify or re-verify with Aadhaar Card.

Step 3: Send the OTP to the registered mobile number.

Step 4: Enter OTP and click "Submit" to proceed.

Step 5: A consent message will then be displayed on the screen. The 12 digits linking digit number had to be entered

Step 6: Then a message will be sent for OTP generation by the telecom operator.

Step 7: The user will then receive a consent message about the e-KYC details.

Step 8: User has to enter OTP by accepting all terms and conditions.

Offline Method  to Link Aadhaar Card with Mobile Number

There were two offline methods for verifying mobile numbers with Aadhaar: SMS based verification and verification by IMR.

SMS based Aadhaar Card and SIM card verification using OTP

Below are the steps to resurrect the mobile number with Aadhaar by visiting the store and sharing the OTP. These steps apply to people who already have a mobile number.

Step 1: Visit a store near your telecom operator theater.

Step 2: Provide a copy of your Aadhar card which is self-certified.

Step 3: Properly submit the mobile number and Aadhar card details to the store executive.

Step 4: Use the Re-Verification app, then a 4-digit OTP will be generated and sent to your mobile number.

Step 5: Submit OTP to Executive Store and Provide Biometrics.

Step 6: After 24 hours, you will receive a confirmation SMS. Answer "Y" to complete the e-KYC process.

Steps to link Aadhar card with mobile number using IVR

The Government of India assisted all telecom subscribers in providing interactive voice is response (IVR) services to provide Aadhaar with a single number to connect to the SIM. 

All pre-paid and postpaid subscribers can follow the steps below to link Aadhar card with the phone number.

Step 1: Dial toll-free number 14546 from your mobile phone.

Step 2: Verify that you are a resident of India or an NRI. To resurrect Aadhaar if you hit 1 in India.

Step 3: Enter your 12-digit base number.

Step 4: Press 1 to confirm your Aadhaar number.

Step 5: Enter the registered mobile number with Aadhaar to get OTP.

Step 6: Give your consent to allow the telecom operator to access your DOB, name and photo from the UIDAI database.

Step 7: Enter the received OTP.

Step 8: Press 1 to complete the verification process again.
